Why I Eloped, as a Professional Wedding Photographer.

Hey there!

After 15 amazing years as a wedding photographer, capturing the magic and splendor of high-end weddings, I decided it was time for a change. Why, you ask? Well, let me take you back to my own wedding day.

For years, I witnessed the joy and love shared at weddings I photographed, but I also saw the stress, chaos, and financial strain many couples endured to create that perfect day. When it came to planning my own wedding, I knew I wanted something different—something more intimate, stress-free, and deeply personal.

So, my husband and I made the decision to elope. We chose to exchange our vows on our farm, surrounded only by a professional chef, our officiant, and, of course, a photographer to capture every special moment.

And you know what? It was everything I had hoped for and more. The day was filled with beauty, romance, and genuine emotion. It was just us, in a place that held deep meaning for us both. I look back on that day with nothing but fond memories.

Now, as I transition my photography focus to elopements, I'm driven by the desire to offer couples an alternative to the traditional wedding experience. I want to help others discover the joy of a stress-free, intimate ceremony that truly reflects who they are as a couple.

Eloping doesn't mean sacrificing beautiful memories or stunning photographs. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It allows couples to allocate their financial resources towards starting a family, buying a home, or exploring the world together—investments that will shape their future long after the wedding day.

I invite you to take a peek at some of the photos from my own elopement day. Each image tells a story of love, connection, and authenticity. If you're considering eloping and have questions about how to plan your perfect day or what to expect from an elopement photographer, I'm here to help.

Let's chat! Drop your questions below, and let's make your elopement dreams a reality.

xoxo,

Jasmine
